Looking for a Master Model Builder for LEGOLAND Atlanta

Open auditions for a position as Master Model Builder at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Atlanta will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2011, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., at the Atlanta Marriott Buckhead Hotel & Conference Center, and on Sunday, January 8, 2011, from 2-4 p.m., at Phipps Plaza in Buckhead. The indoor attraction, where the new Master Model Builder will demonstrate his skills in full force, is slated to open in late April 2012 at Phipps Plaza in the heart of Buckhead.

This uncommon audition aims to find a model builder who is skilled enough to be responsible for developing new features, exhibitions and building new models, as well as working with the thousands of children expected to visit the attraction. Candidates interested in auditioning must register in advance by visiting the Atlanta section of the attraction’s website at www.legolanddiscoverycenter.com and filling out the online application. Applicants must be 18 years or older.

Faced with millions of LEGO bricks when they arrive, job seekers will be required to show how skilled they are at building LEGO models by undergoing a series of creative LEGO challenges. A special panel of judges, which includes adults and children, will evaluate each candidate’s performance. At the end of the first day of auditions, 10 successful builders will be chosen to move on to the final stage of the competition, which will be held at Phipps Plaza on Sunday. At the conclusion of the final audition, one candidate will be named the winner of the competition and will be awarded the title of Master Model Builder, a full-time position at the LEGOLAND Discovery Center Atlanta.

Efforts for the new Master Model Builder competition are being made possible due to the tremendous support of the LEGOLAND Discover Center Atlanta’s partners, including Atlanta Marriott Buckhead Hotel & Conference Center and Phipps Plaza.

LEGOLAND Discovery Center Atlanta is scheduled to open in Phipps Plaza in April 2012. This will be the third LEGOLAND Discovery Center in the United States. Described as stepping into the biggest box of LEGO bricks in the world, the $15 million, 30,000-square-foot interactive attraction will feature a MINILAND exhibit which recreates landmark buildings in Atlanta out of LEGO bricks, hands-on play areas, a 4D Cinema, master classes from the LEGO Master Model Builder, LEGO rides and special party rooms for birthdays and other celebrations. This highly interactive and educational two-to-three hour indoor experience is ideal for families with children.
